What is Sugar Hair Removal?
A technique that ancient middle-eastern ancestors would practice. The organic hair removal paste is derived from ingredients like sugar, water and lemon juice with results that can last up to 6 weeks.
how does it work?
A warm thick mixture is applied first opposite the direction of hair growth and is then removed in the direction of hair growth. Large amounts of hair can be taken off at the same time and areas can be finished faster than wax. This treatment is less painful and less damaging than wax. Benefits: Most people find this less painful than waxing.
What do I need to do prior to my removal service?
Please arrive to your appointment in a clean and tidy fashion. exfoliating the night/morning before your service is known to help reduce irritation. (we recommend exfoliating with a hand full of sugar)
Will Sugaring hurt?
The sugar itself does not adhere to the surface of the skin. This means when we remove the paste, we do not have that ripping effect that waxing does. We are still removing the hair from the root of the follicle, so it is not pain free, but most say it is less painful than typical waxing.
How long does my hair need to be?
The hair needs to be about the length of a grain of rice. (1/4 inch) There is no such thing as the hair being too long, we just get into trouble if the hair is too short.
Can I get a removal if I am in a cycle?
You absolutely can! The Sugar is very gently on the skin, allowing us to do removals even when you are in a cycle. We do them all the time! Lord knows, we can not live our lives by our cycles, otherwise we would never get anything done. :)
What is a Sugar Lash Lift?
This fun service is a perm for your eyelashes. It will take an hour to complete and the results will last you 4-6 weeks.
What do I need to do prior to my Lash Lift service?
This treatment will require you arrive with no make up on the eyes. You will want to remove any mascara completely.
Will Lash Lifting hurt?
Some people are sensitive to the adhesive used to hold the perming strip to the surface of the skin. This is a sensitivity that will be noticeable right from the start. If you do find the adhesive sensitive, your technician will talk to you about how and what you are feeling to determine if the service will proceed.
Which facial is right for me?
There are so many facial options and skin sensitivities that will determine the answer to this question. We use the Eminence Organics Skin Care products. We have the entire back bar to fully customize a facial that will address a wide variety of concerns. Each facial will start with a consultation to determine the appropriate actions and products to fit your skin.
Will a Peel Hurt?
We have very active peels and not so active peels. None of our products will leave you in discomfort for a long period of time. At most, there is a bit of tingle as the product sits at the surface of the skin. As soon as the product is removed, the sensitivity will dissipate.
What do I need to do to prepare for my facial?
We ask that you arrive to your service with no make up. The less time we have to take removing make up, the more time we will have to focus on your skin.
What if I have sensitive skin and/or allergies to the product being used?
We use all organic product in our sugaring and facial services. If you have sensitive skin or know food allergies, you will want to disclose this prior to your appointment. Your technician may recommend a patch test before proceeding with your services.
How do I book an appointment?
We use the Vagaro online booking software to securely keep up with your information and appointment bookings. You will click any BOOK NOW button to be directed to setting up your profile. We do require a credit card on file to hold an appointment time.
Will my card be charged when I book my appointment?
We do not charge your card until the close of your appointment. We will, however, charge your card in the event we implement our 24 hour cancellation policy.
Why is there a 24 hour cancellation policy?
Our cancellation policy is in place to cultivate respect and ensure fairness. We respect your time by setting aside our time to be there to perform your service. We expect the same respect in return by showing up to the scheduled appointment. Often times, we have to turn away people because we have already committed our time to the already scheduled service. It is unfair to our technicians, who make a living by providing their time, for someone to not show up when there are others who would gladly shown up and received a service.
